Don’t get us wrong – we love the power and reach of working virtually, but our trip to the IVAA (International Virtual Assistants Association) Live Summit last week reaffirmed the importance (and fun) of getting some face time with colleagues, clients and new contacts in the business.
This year’s Summit was held in the vibrant city of Memphis Tennessee. Following some great keynotes and workshops that highlighted awesome business building strategies, and great new tools, tips and tactics for working online, we still found time to enjoy this lively city.
Here’s our Fab Five things you MUST do in Memphis:
1. See the famous Peabody ducks march from the elevator to the lobby fountain
2. Experience the lights and sounds of exciting Beale Street
3. Watch the sun go down from a funky hotel rooftop party
4. Eat too much BBQ (even for breakfast!)
5. Visit Graceland. We loved it: thank you, thank you very much.
Never underestimate the importance of making time for live events. Not only did we connect with so many great professionals, it was also a chance to meet-for-real some of the leaders in our industry. We made lots of new friends and contacts that we are really looking forward to collaborating with. It was also an invaluable opportunity to talk about our business to people who are not familiar with project management and to chat up the next session of ‘Painless Project Management’ training coming up in May.
There’s nothing like the thrill of a live event – here’s the next one we’re attending:
